Releasing a Record in 2021...Trials and Tribulations

It's been a long journey, and it's finally coming to an end. I started working on my new record back at the beginning of 2020, taking a few songs I'd written and starting to flesh them out in the studio. Then the pandemic hit and I had nothing but time, which one would think would have made the project move along at a lightning pace. But with so much time to invest, the opposite happened. There didn't seem to be any rush to finish anything, and tracks kept getting re-recorded, updated, changed and twisted about for months on end. Finally, with the light at the end of the Covid tunnel shining, I had to make a decision...keep spinning my wheels or throw it into overdrive and finish the thing. I chose to knuckle down and race towards a deadline of May 1st.

After so long working on my record, I was excited to see it done. But then I realized that writing and recording it was only part of the process. Next came printing and distribution, which in the modern world means dealing with digital streaming services. Each of them have their own protocols and parameters for accepting independent music, and navigating those is somewhat daunting. But, I've worked too hard not to continue to rise to the challenge! So, mudlarking, my new 9 song record, will be coming to all the major streaming services on June 18th, 2021. In addition, physical CDs will be available for purchase through Amazon.com and my website. I'm eyeballing a possible vinyl release at a later date, but time will tell if that comes to fruition.

I'm so excited to share mudlarking with you all! I hope that you enjoy it!
